Position Overview:

The Senior Business Analyst/ Project Coordinator will play a key role in the creation, management, evaluation and interpretation of business and technical requirements. This includes but is not limited to evaluation of design specifications and translation of business needs to technical solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

This individual is proficient in all things related to gathering requirements, feature tracking, and change management activities across Business, IT and Supplier teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains currency in business analysis practices, procedures and techniques
  • Follows up with internal clients about completed tasks to ensure client satisfaction
  • Identifies requirements for testing, develops test plans and scripts and coordinates test transmissions as required
  • Define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis
  • Decompose high-level business requirements into an appropriate level of business rules and detailed user, functional, and non-functional requirements using alternative views such as flows, diagrams, models, and use cases when applicable
  • Perform Ad-Hoc reporting and report support as necessary
  • Lead the identification and documentation of business metrics
  • Work with development and business personnel to develop user documentation, first draft of training materials, manual updates, and field communications
  • Create documentation deliverables
  • Assist in identifying data quality problems and determine remediation steps
  • Create customized reports based on data provided by various teams via emails, phone calls, meetings and updates within change management system
  • Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users, in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of case management systems to ensure optimal operational performance
  • Develops requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing systems to ensure the system design fits the needs of the users
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes
  • Reads and interprets case management systems and functional technical literature and translates in terms understandable to the end-users
  • Researches and prepares statistical reports using data
  • Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making
  • Assists in developing an overall change management strategy
  • Conducts change impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes and documents business rules, functions and requirements
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality
  • Directs or participates in studies of new and existing programs and special projects to determine feasibility, resolve problems including organizational, procedural, technical and fiscal research and analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Documentation skills including non-functional, functional, business rules, and business processes are required as well as solid verbal communications
  • Expert knowledge of the Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) and/or Product Development Life-Cycle (PDLC)
  • Proficient & professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience or background in business analysis, requirements definition, building systems solutions, and deployment of business requirements
  • Visual Basic, SQL experience, general programming
  • Strong knowledge of Visio and MS project
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good organizational skills; able to assemble and present information clearly

  • Ability to understand, configure, and manage complex technology solutions
  • General understanding of Windows, MS Office, Outlook; MS Project

· Organization skills and communication expertise complimented by a technology background is preferred

· Experiences with task management systems

· Experience in elicitation of Business Requirements

Requirements:

· 8+ years of experience with requirements management or change management systems

· 8+ years Business Requirements writing experience

· 1-2 years software support experience

· 1-2 years of experience with various software development methodologies

Education:
  • BA/BS in analytics, informatics, computer science, or business and/or equivalent experience preferred
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis a plus
