Job Description

The Product Owner plays a vital role in product analysis, planning, definition and go-to-market processes. Product Owners are at the center of the product, helping drive product requirements and many key business initiatives.

The Product Owner defines, tracks, maintains requirements and roadmaps with a solid understanding of users, competitive landscape and future trends working alongside product management and the agile development teams to jointly commit on delivery of a robust, reliable and marketable product.

The Product Owner will be responsible to identify and document Epics, Features and Stories for their product line and provide direction to the engineering team to deliver quality deliverables in every sprint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business domain in which the products operate.
  • Work with stakeholders to determine priority of backlog items and provide direction to the team on these priorities. Be able to explain in a way that the team understands why they’ re building what they’ re being asked to build and the business impact of those workflow solutions.
  • Write high quality Epics, Features, User Stories, and other necessary materials and provide direction to the team on what needs to be developed and why, along with identifying success criteria and testing with the team.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our competition as well as our position in the market
  • Work with internal teams to make sure that the systems and processes are in place to support the products and our customers
  • Produce and maintain high quality user documentation, including Release Notes.
  • Write documentation for internal and external stakeholders (some examples include internal process documentation for how a product is supported and external documentation on how a product is used by a customer).
  • Participate in pre-sales demos where required.
  • Ensure requirements align with company goals and the product roadmap as determined by business and product management.

Minimum Experience:
  • Minimal 4 years experience in Business Analysis, Product or Project Management
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certifications

Minimum Education
  • BS/BA in Finance, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
