Technical Writer

Position Purpose: The Technical Writer will produce exceptional technical documents including user manuals, technical specifications and other documents as assigned for our CardValet appfactory product. Demonstrated proficiency writing business and technical documentation with a focus on applications created for Apple and Google is required. The ability to work in a fast-paced development environment is also required. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:  

• Write client and associate documentation on an application designed to create, publish and resubmit mobile applications created for Apple and Google App stores 
• Develop appropriate client and associate training to compliment the documentation created. 
• Accountable under limited direction to produce documentation that enables internal users and clients to utilize the products and efficiently complete their jobs with minimal service calls 
• Manage documentation projects throughout the project life cycle 
• Manage updates and revisions to technical documentation 
• Plan, Analyze, design and develop technical user manuals, Implementation guides, and related product materials 
• Research and develop product help files, product release notes, installation procedures and requirements for products as required 
• Write and edit drafts, publish final versions, and incorporate company style and standards 
• Participate in Project Meetings and adhere to project deadlines 
• Research and complete other documentation projects as assigned 

Required Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science or a related field 
• Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree 
• 3 or more years’ experience in the Technical Writing industry 
• 2 or more years’ experience using MadCap Flare 
• 2 or more years using Snagit or other screen capture programs 
• 1 or more years’ experience using Adobe Captivate 
• Experience documenting procedures/process for Applications in the App store and Google Play 
• Strong Proofreading and editing Skills 
• Excellent PC skills including MS Office Suite and SharePoint 
• Experience creating process flow documentation 
• Ability to partner with third party provider to elicit information required to produce documentation 
• Solid knowledge and demonstrated understanding of basic desktop publishing and document design philosophies 
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills 
• Proven technical writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail 
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with limited supervision 
• Flexibility to quickly shift priorities to meet critical deadlines 
• Advanced organizational and time management skills 
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Knowledge of EFT industry 
• Experience in the financial industry or banking 
• Knowledge of HTML preferred
