MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’ s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field, or equivalent training in the area of LAN/WAN/WLAN network and in the implementation and support of those networks. Minimum vendor certification of CCNP or Cisco Wireless LAN Design Specialist preferred. Technical training supplemented with continuing education courses/seminars.


Experience: Typically, 5 years of technical experience in LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure management with a BA Degree in Management Information Systems; or BA Degree in equivalent technical field. Without a technical degree, 7-10 years of technical experience in LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure management. 1 year experience in a team lead or supervisory role preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledgeable in LAN/WAN/WLAN, TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, QoS, Voice-over-IP, Video-over-IP, Wireless Survey, Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, Cisco ASA platform. Ability to troubleshoot problems and define solutions. Ability to assess the overall impact of any change to a complex environment and present any associated risk factors to management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: List each job duty and responsibility that is essential to performing the job successfully, efficiently and safely.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information and systems and processes that store or handle electronic protected health information. Responsible for reporting any security incident you become aware of to the Information Security Manager. Responsible for using elevated system privileges only when necessary and not using elevated system privileges for day-to-day and routine activities.
50% Maintains the integrity and reliability of the LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure:
-   Performs on-going maintenance of the LAN/WAN environment and related sub-networking environments to ensure a continuous, smooth, and seamless operation.
-   Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs of LAN/WAN hardware and microcode related problems.
-   Responsible for the design and implementation of the network environment and network protocols.
-   Tracks application performance across the network and alerts management in a timely manner when warning or other signs of trouble are indicated.
-   Takes appropriate action to minimize network disruption/downtime, guides and cross trains other less experienced staff members in troubleshooting disciplines.
10% Local and Wide Area Network Security:
-   Designs and Implements overall network security strategy.
-   Adheres to security guidelines/policies as outlined by senior management.
-   Develops and monitors security audit reports and reports security violation to senior management as required by company policy.
-   Supports Internet Firewall hardware and software. Provides audit reporting as necessary to senior management as to unauthorized access attempts and policy violations.
10% Coordination and Communication:
-   Coordinates with end user community and other Network Services sections to produce, develop, and maintain LAN operations, with minimal impact on the end user community.
-   Coordinates with section manager and/or Manager of Network Services daily activities and assigned project status.
-   Uses appropriate communication methods to support on-going goals and objectives of the department.
-   Provides effective communication about network outages and problems to upper management or section lead, and keeps entire group updated as to on-going outage status.
10% Testing and Installation:
-   Tests, prototypes and installs new and upgraded network system, hardware and software.
-   Completes smooth installation of network hardware and software components and the continued integrity of the network operating environment with minimal impact on the end user community.
-   Mentors less experience technician within the group and at time outside of core network team.
10% Documentation, policies and procedures:
-   Provides timely systems and network documentation as required by supervisor and senior management.
-   Supports and upholds established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, objective, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control, and codes.
5% Serves as a team lead on critical projects providing direction and support to other project team members. Participates in quality improvement activities; assists in maintaining compliance with JCAHO accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards.
