IT Program Management Office (PMO) Coordinator

The IT Program Management Office (PMO) is seeking a contract PMO Coordinator located at our Atlanta, GA headquarters. The PMO provides Information Technology project, program and portfolio services to the company. The PMO Coordinator is responsible for supporting the PMO Manager and team by delivering high quality, project and portfolio-oriented support. This position will also manage well-defined workstreams within larger projects and small projects or work efforts under the direction of Project Managers, Program Managers or PMO Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides the PMO Manager and team with project and PMO operations support, including scheduling and facilitating meetings; composing agendas, status reports and minutes
  • Maintains, tracks, and collects resource plans, issues logs, project plans, project budgets and other common project management deliverables
  • Establishes and maintains PMO files, project data, portfolio data, methodologies and training on the shared work site in SharePoint
  • Manages small projects or pieces of larger projects under the direction of a Project Manager, Program Manager or PMO Manager
  • Manages work efforts under the direction of a Project Manager, Program Manager or PMO Manager
  • Triages and responds to requests for information, assistance, and project management tools from PMO customers
  • Facilitates Status Meetings for the portfolio of active projects and work efforts
  • Participates in the development of new and revised project management processes, tools and templates
  • Assists Project Managers, Program Managers or PMO Manager with special projects
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in business administration, computer science, information systems or other related field, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of project coordination experience working in a PMO environment supporting Project Managers using an established Project Management Methodology
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; detail oriented yet able to understand impacts across multiple projects and systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including ability to communicate with all levels within the company
  • Excellent technology skills, including experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement through developing, incorporating, and promoting best practices
