Workload Automation Developer

Location: Atlanta, GA



•  Responsible for developing a Workload Automation framework for our managed analytics platform and solutions.

•  Collaborate with Development, Architecture, Testing, Quality Assurance, and Operations groups to ensure the Workload Automation infrastructure is scalable, visible, secure, highly available, efficient, flexible, and auditable

•  Establish standards, policies & procedures for job scheduling, monitoring and change control for Workload Automation across the enterprise.

•  Provides best practice documentation for Solution/Client implementation teams to effectively utilize Workload Automation capabilities.

•  Evaluates current versions of Workload Automation tools to ensure we are operating to the standards of the market place

•  Work closely with the Operations team to configure workflows that will provide necessary alerting, messaging and logging capabilities for managing day to day processes.

•  Works with client implementation & solution teams to fully automate processes to meet end to end solution requirements, ensure business SLAs are met and Workload Automation best practices/standards are followed.

•  Participates in Solution Architecture reviews and suggests changes based on implementation within a hosted, multi-tenant environment

•  Demonstrates and provides training in Workload Automation best practices and implementation of available capabilities.

•  Provides support on escalated issues within Workload Automation

•  Works to automate current manual managed services process, such as Solution/Client Provisioning, Migrations, Infrastructure Provisioning, Maintenance, Reporting and Archiving

•  Works to automate the provisioning, management and tear-down of complex, multi-tier sandbox environments.

•  Create Workload Automaton templates or accelerators to promote reusability and reduced development effort.



•  3+ years hands-on experience in:

o  Workload Automation design and development

o  Data Processing Operations

o  IT Provisioning

•  Hands-on experience with configuration management and orchestration

•  Experience with monitoring and issue management tools

•  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

•  Proven experience with systems integration, security and management best practices

•  Minimum four-year degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related degree program, or equivalent experience


Technical Skills

•  3+ years hands-on experience with a Workload Automation tool (ActiveBatch, BMC Control, AutoSys)

•  Strong OS and applications level scripting (Windows, Linux, Powershell, T-SQL)

•  Strong OS knowledge: Microsoft Windows (2008, 2012), Linux (RedHat Enterprise, CentOS)

•  Network Communications and Ports (TCP, UDP, SFTP)

•  Database Technologies (SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014)

•  Visualization Technologies – QlikView, Tableau

•  Web Services – SOAP and REST

•  XML Programming
