Position Description: Interaction Designer - Position Description We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Interaction Designer to work on a number of key projects in our department. You are fun, fearless and fast. You have skills in interaction, interface, and visual design, user interviewing, design research, prototyping and testing and love putting your designs into action. You believe that the best way to validate an idea is to prototype it and get it in front of users as quickly as possible. 
Major duties include: 
• Guide designs from concept to launch, working closely with team members (product managers, developers, and testers) to develop and iterate design ideas 
• Understand customer needs, business and functional requirements and be able to translate them into an intuitive, friendly user experience 
• Create design direction for our applications through collaborative design sessions 
• Partner with developers to design and build CSS 
• Sketch, mock-up, describe, or otherwise communicate interaction and visual design direction and details 
• Conduct usability tests and perform research to help define and drive the UX strategy

Qualifications: Qualifications (background, experience, and other requirements): 
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in interactive design, usability analysis, or visual design and at least 2 years of experience in software design including modern web application design 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and an understanding of the dynamics of working on a product team with people who have varied skillsets 
• Actively listen to both users and co-workers and offer and accept feedback openly and work as part of a highly collaborative team • Quickly deliver strong design/direction during quick iterations 
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of design fundamentals and principles 
• Demonstrated proficiency with appropriate software tools (Adobe CC, Omnigraffle, Axure, Balsamiq, or other prototyping tools) 
• Experience with CSS 
• Strong visualization and prototyping skills 
• Knowledge of current web application design trends 
• You' re okay with designing without having all of the answers and sharing your work before it' s done 
• You can effectively communicate your design and strategy to both technical and non-technical people 
• You enjoy advocating UX and helping your colleagues become better at incorporating UX into their thought process 
• Experience implementing desktop and web applications 
• Experience using source control or you aren' t scared to learn how to use it (TFS and git) 
• You want to better understand our users, you know when to get user feedback and when to move on and you are willing to give an idea a try and iterate it to the best design 
• You understand Lean UX methodology and understand that all team members own the design 
• BA/BS or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design or Visual Design 
• Some knowledge of front-end programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SASS, LESS, Bootstrap, Zurb Foundation) is preferred but not required
