The Test Engineer holds an engineering role that drives continuous improvement in reliability and performance. You will guide discussion around verification and measurement amongst the team, are seen as an authority and leader in adopting testing best practices, and help define and validate feature acceptance criteria.  Your team will be relatively small consisting of test, data and software engineers and a product owner who are intensely collaborating in meaningful way.

Responsibilities:
-    Be generally considered a product, system, and consumer knowledge SME for their team. 
-    Be able to successfully identify optional testing pathways with few challenges for existing (and possibly new) projects
-    Be able to tell a complete and compelling story of the testing that has or has not been done, and why 
-    Know where to find key information and assist others in finding the answers they need.
-    Be expected to ask specific and pertinent questions related to testing; employing critical thinking skills to ""think outside the box"", concerning external dependencies, teams, products and new testing methodologies when applicable. 
-    Will occasionally provide new technical insight to other team members.
-    Focus on the use of testing tools (versus traditional manual testing), or potentially focus on automation.
-    Work with team to define and measure quality
-    Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
 
Requirements:
-    Ability to ask the right questions that ensure the team is solving the right problem
-    Ability to discuss problems in such a way that guide the team toward actions items without overpowering or harming team relationships.
-    Desire to constantly improve the testing craft
-    Ability to test and communicate risk in the time frame given
-    Ability to participate in code reviews from the testing and quality point of view

Preferred Skills:
-    Git or general version control experience
-    Test automation experience
-    Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)
-    Experience with information retrieval systems, hard state-space optimization solutions
-    Public speaking skills
