Sr. Technical Business and Data Analyst

This role will focus on fleshing out requirements related to system enhancements and support requests. The Analyst works directly with system users and super users to elicit and document business rules and requirements for development initiatives. Because much of this role centers on reporting and responding to data requests from the business stakeholders, strong data analysis, including scripting and querying skills are a must. The Analyst is also responsible for creating and managing all documentation required by development including functional specifications, agile user stories, process flow diagrams and test plans. Additionally the Analyst is expected to manage the development and QA for modules within their purview, conduct structured user acceptance testing and provide ongoing support as needed. The Analyst works closely with Systems, the team and the business. The role therefore requires a strong collaborator with excellent multi-tasking, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to actively contribute to multiple concurrent development efforts. This is an in-the-office position and requires constant collaboration with peers and client stakeholders.

Responsibilities
• Perform requirements analysis, documentation and management
• Strong data analysis skills are required
• Ability to understand complex database structure, how to navigate through it, and connecting the data to business processes in an effort to report and respond to data requests from stakeholders
• Provide direct user support
• Diagnose and analyze system issues; determine if issues are data or code related and resolve data issues, as appropriate
• Manage iterative development cycles with remote and local team members
• Manage QA testing efforts for all new features or systems issues, including test scenario/test case development and execution
• Create user guide documentation and or training guide to support new features delivered
• Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation and test plans on behalf of the end-users
• Facilitate UAT with end-users and prioritize and communicate changes back to the development
team
• Strong desire and ability to learn and understand at a detailed level the business processes that
support the tax billing and collection process
Requirements
• Candidate shall have in-depth experience with custom system development and delivery.
• Candidate shall also have solid experience with developing use cases, process flow diagrams, user
interface mockups and agile user stories
• Candidate should have the ability to translate user requirements into user stories for the
development team (experience with agile requirements is a plus)
• Preferred Technical Experience: Relational databases including Oracle and a solid ability to
script/query with SQL
• Additional tools in use: Experience with Rally, Jira Agile and Fitnesse a plus.
• Collaborative mind-set with strong analytical skills; ability to build a strong rapport with system
users
• Experience driving projects to completion is a plus as there is a project management component to
this role
