Senior Electrical Architect for Rugged/IoT

Are you a Senior Electrical Architect with experience in Rugged Notebooks and Tablets, IoT gateways, industrial PCs, embedded motherboards, and/or applied computing devices. This person will have a high level of analysis and design skills. You will be a lead technical resource in all areas of product design. You must be well versed in the core electrical engineering analytical skills in order to affect system-level decisions and represent the team at cross-functional reviews. Working knowledge of building, manufacturing, and/or industrial automation solution elements is a plus.
Responsible for the design and development activities associated with electronic designs. Leads all activities necessary to take a design from concept to production including: architecture definition, analysis, schematic design, sourcing, simulation, works with ECAD for physical board layout/route, validation, debug, and test issue prioritization and resolution, and field and factory ramp support. Works with the design team, cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure the design meets set requirements for: schedule, feature set, functionality, cost, continuity of supply, quality, reliability, regulatory compliance, and industry standards compliance.
-Architect and influence the shaping of future products by providing system level insight into the technology roadmap.
-Identify and scope projects around innovation opportunities as well as technology risks.
-Execute designs for complex systems backed by thorough engineering analysis.
-Take responsibility for gathering requirements and concepts generation.
-Engage ODM partners and technology providers to gather information and release requirements.
-Generate IP to protect innovation.
-Determines design approaches and parameters.
-10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
-Undergraduate degree and 8+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 6-8 years relevant experience.
-Advanced proficiency in reading and understanding specifications, data sheets and other technical documents.
-Advanced ability to write and analyze requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, tech plans and documentation.
-Advanced proficiency with electrical simulation tools; understanding of the different tools available for simulation.
-Advanced knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory and principles.
-Advanced understanding of appropriate technologies, vendor products and competitor's offerings.
-Advanced ability to identify potential product weakness, and be able to provide design guidance and recommendations for improvements to subsequent redesigns.
