QA Manager

Position Description:

The QA Program Lead will be reporting directly to the Service Delivery Leader (SDL), you oversee teams responsible for delivery of quality products to production. You will help manage the functional testing, deployment, and delivery activities. You will co-ordinate with  performance, automation, development teams, solution design teams and load testing teams for the delivery of optimized processes for the Assurance portfolio.

The team is multi-disciplined consisting of Business Analysts, Tech Leads, Product Owner, Data Modelers/Developers, QA and a SCRUM Master. Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of the Agile Methodology (SAFe preferred) and web application development source code (i.e. ASP.net, PHP, Java Script)

Responsibilities:
  • Optimize test activities which include: design, develop and execute test strategies/plans; perform impact and gap analysis; monitor and instruct test resources on proper procedures to ensure team compliance, status reporting to Manager on development projects, coordinate issue resolution,
  • Participate in Release/Iteration Planning
  • Ensure User Stories are testable and measurable
  • Communicate (verbal and written) with business, development, and senior management, on the progress of the Release Period project goals, objectives, and testing efforts.
  • Oversee multiple small to medium sized on and offshore teams
  • Identify and communicate risks and issues
  • Review test plans and test cases ensuring alignment with standards
  • Prepare and manage Project Plan
  • Verify the availability of environments for testing
  • Ensure that all system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved
  • Support all quality initiatives that are implemented during each Sprint
  • Support  in the development of testing policies, standards, release management and procedures
  • Initiate risk management and escalation
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other IT Services, IT Solutions functions and customers to expedite delivery of IT solution
    • Review Test Scenarios for optimization opportunities
    • Review Test Cases/Scripts for optimization opportunities
    • Support Team Lead in upward stakeholder management and day-to-day management of the organization
    • Ability to push quality upstream to product owners and other stakeholders
    • Work closely with off-shore teams and 3rd party vendors to deliver projects on time, cost and quality requirements
    • Knowledge of network infrastructure components and concepts
    • Must have knowledge and hands on experience of SQL scripting
    • Must have experience working in an agile environment
    • Provide appropriate knowledge transfer to offshore teams to assist in efforts
    • Support the implementation and management of strategic initiatives to support global activities including standards, strategies, and roadmaps
    • Assist in the development, maintenance, and the provision of training on testing procedures
    • Responsible for delivery of high quality applications to production.
    • Ability to build good relationships

Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates must have:
  • A Bachelor' s degree in Computer Science
  • Minimum of 15 years as a QA Test Lead, IT Manager, or Service delivery Leader
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in an agile development environment 
  • 5+ years of automation experience using tools such as QTP or QC
  • Experience working with User Stories
  • Ability to manage time well, organize and prioritize
  • Experience working with on and offshore teams
  • Experience on a variety of programs with differing demands
  • Experience with web applications, Azure and big data is a plus
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Ability to escalate accurately, timely and efficiently
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Extremely knowledgeable in automated and data driven testing
  • English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication
