Network Support Analyst

 

Position Description

Provides I.T. support to end users and is accountable for ensuring the continuity of computer system services to internal users by providing technical expertise, assistance and coordination necessary to install computer software products, modify/repair hardware and software, and resolve technical problems with minimal down-time and inconvenience while performing those duties. Build, configure, and troubleshoot local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and other company networks. Diagnose and correct network systems issues. Provide hands-on network administration support, network maintenance and operations support. Recommend networking software and hardware enhancements.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assure continuity of the computer systems for all system users in the Georgia and Branch Office Locations
  • Troubleshoot network issues in switches, routers, firewalls
  • Configure/Trouble shoot VMWare virtual machines
  • NAS/SAN storage / Isilon / Dell Research software products and their applicability to the organization’ s environment and goals
  • Ensure computer I.T. issues are resolved in a timely manner with minimal down-time
  • Install approved software and hardware products
  • Repair hardware as necessary and work closely with service vendors to ensure continuity of service
  • Be “ on-call” for local user support.  Provide technical assistance and advice to users

 

Requirements

Education Required:
  • Associate' s degree in Computer Science or related  field
  • Four years related computer I.T. experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Computer Skills:

Must be proficient in setting-up, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting;
  • Windows, OS X, iOS, and Android operating systems and applicable hardware
  • Helpdesk operations with excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • Maintaining Microsoft Active Directory at the server and client level for both Mac and Windows users
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 – 2012 R2 and vSphere
  • Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, ASA…) and cabling
  • Cisco Unified Communications (VOIP), headsets, and voicemail
  • Storage and backup devices and technologies such as SAN, NAS, tape library, and software
  • Audio Visual equipment
  • Photo copiers; Xerox, Canon, Konica-Minolta, and Kyocera
  • Troubleshooting issues with various lab equipment
  • Experience with coding and programming is a bonus / Web Design

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

I.T. related, Microsoft, Apple, CompTIA and Cisco certifications are preferred.

 

Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications:
  • Be well organized and pay close attention to detail
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in MIS technology
  • Ability to work without supervision, while keeping the Director of I.T. and Regional Manager updated on I.T.
  • Good time management skills, and work overtime as required
  • Good communication skills, maintain documentation, and patience
  • Strong desire to learn, expand, and grow technical competencies
  • Occasional travel to Branch Offices will be required occasionally for I.T. related projects
