Lead Software Architect, Cloud Platform Technologies

POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

As a software engineering architect, you will be responsible for driving the design and technical approach for solutions across all of the Travel and Entertainment industries (Venues, Travel, and Cinemas) to ensure integrity in many areas including user interface design, distributed computing, networking, security, web applications, and messaging in a cloud environment. You would be working with our small, agile teams, and we need you to be versatile and passionate to tackle new problems and to push our technology forward.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*Architect and design highly scalable, available, secure and elastic solutions that implement industry best practices using Cloud Computing.

*Collaborate and innovate with other team members, product owners, and scrum masters to design, code, and test new software.

*Provide estimates for work as needed.

*Help create documentation of best practices and processes.

*Continuously stay up to date with industry changes, and bring new ideas to the team.

 

 
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

*Bachelor’ s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar technology related field.

*Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

*8+ years of software engineering experience.

*2+ years of experience working in an agile environment.

*3+ years hands-on experience 100% dedicated to providing production ready application solutions using services from leading cloud service providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, IBM SoftLayer, or OpenStack-based clouds.

*Expert in private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of security, virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and networking, and massive data storage.

*Experience with Web Services (RESTful/ SOAP/ SOA).

*Proficient knowledge of design patterns.

*Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure management tools such as, Nagios, Icinga, Chef/ Puppet, Bamboo /Jenkins, and RDS.

 

BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE:

*Continuous integration skills for real-time testing and diagnostics

*Familiarity with Test Driven and Behavior Driven Development

*Experience with Lean / Agile concepts beyond Scrum, including Kanban and XP

*Proficient with one or more programming languages including C#, Java, C++, .Net, XML, COM, JavaScript, etc.

*Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including writing queries, designing tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

*Knowledge of hospitality, cinema, venues, or travel industries.
