IT Software Configuration Analyst

Job Description

The Configuration Analyst is a customer facing position responsible for supporting the RPM Application Administration Team which controls application configurations, investigates application issues, and coordinates with other support teams who service internal and external customers.

The RPM Application Administration Team encompasses updating application settings, auditing of application contents, investigating application issues, and coordination of changes with an external software vendor across multiple environments.  The Configuration Analyst is responsible for supporting this team by completing user requests for configuration changes, resolving service interruptions, updating software vendor tickets, finding continuous improvement opportunities, and coordinating of changes with the external software vendor. The ideal candidate will have project and/or support experience in ERP-like environments.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and mitigate application issues: user interface, database, Central and remote application servers
  • Work with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders including: Program Management, Release Engineering, Development, Quality Assurance, Product Management, and Support/Operations for releases of varying size and complexity
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with project team members, management, business stakeholders, and external vendors
  • Track project tasks, follow up on open items, and report issues
  • Respond proactively to requests for information
  • Provide support to team by maintaining status updates and documentation
  • Participate in Lessons Learned sessions by providing action items and identifying improvements
  • Ensure the completion of root cause analysis, and prevent issues from recurring
  • Bring industry standard best practices to the existing processes

Qualifications

Requirements will include but may not be limited to the following:
  • Experience performing application investigations and/or support for at least five years
  • Experience working with third party vendors for at least three years
  • Experience working in a large, standards-based corporate environment with the ability to work around tight deadlines, under pressure, is important
  • Knowledge of software applications, systems implementations, and a wide-ranging understanding of software development life cycle processes
  • Being able to understand and apply application requirements during the implantation phase of projects
  • Ability to write multi-join SQL statements and performing analysis on data trends
  • Experience with Linux and understanding of file structures, moving files, setting permissions, vi editor, and log/issue research
  • Excellent administrative and communication skills required
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities well
  • Proven ability to drive issues to resolution
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Flexible and able to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with a ticket tracking systems, preferably ServiceNow
  • Understanding of store/retail operations is preferred
  • Linux scripting a nice to have (bsh, awk, sed)
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA, AssistEdge) knowledge is a nice to have
