The Design Production Manager (DPM) serves as the owner of digital design work streams within an engagement. The specific responsibility of the role is to ensure work is delivered on time, within the estimated budget, to the level of quality expected by the business owner and fulfills on the strategic objectives as agreed upon. The Design Production Manager will typically be engaged at the inception of a new opportunity to ensure proper alignment of requirements for discover management, including requirements gathering and resource selection as well as estimation of the initiative; at the inception of a project to ensure that estimates are produced and that appropriate resources are identified in support of the defined work streams and associated deliverables. The position of the Design Production Manager is business owner and cross functional team facing with the role serving as a point of contact for the business owner and Delivery Manager assigned to the engagement. The Design Production Manager is required to manage the engagement scope requirements, project expectations, change control, and engagement budgets. The role of the Design Production Manager is to successfully deliver creative, digital solutions working with cross-functional, multi-project team resources. The Design Production Manager controls design project activities applying a combination of strategic and managerial skills to ensure the successful delivery of the solutions.


Responsibilities:
 
• As a key stakeholder, contributes to project design requirements and associated levels of commitment required
• In accordance with company standards and with contribution from studio leads, develops engagement plans that outline event sequences, dependencies, levels of effort, duration and resource requirements necessary to successfully deliver client initiatives
• Develops detailed hours estimates in concert with studio leads. Builds consensus around engagement scope(s) and timeline(s) and ensures all leads approve hours estimates
• Leverages historical information in support of estimate validation for design projects of similar scope and magnitude
• Maintains and effectively executes design project plans throughout project lifecycles according to established Iterative Design Process (ICP)
• Communicates the detailed requirements of projects to internal teams and resources
• Maintains weekly project status reports for business owners and internal reviews
• Ensures Change Orders (COs) are developed in support of out of scope requirements as outlined within the agreed scope
• Monitors and reports on engagement budget communicating and mitigating financial risks
• Works with Business Owners and Product Strategists to convey business needs / requirements in an effective manner to design team members by contributing to Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) that clearly articulate strategic imperatives and associated objectives
• Works with DPE Studio Resource Manager to secure appropriate resources necessary to achieve successful delivery of project requirements
• Documents within Active Collab and delegates tasks to resources via established methodologies and assures that work is being done on time, within budget parameters, within quality standards and aligns with strategic objectives
• Develops and delivers weekly status reports
• Provides client meeting reports resulting from conclusion of design meetings / discussions in which engagement details are reviewed resulting in actionable tasks or changes to scope of effort
• Configures / deploys communication tools for business owners and cross-functional and studio team project collaboration, review and approval
• Determines approval levels for business owner communication and sign-off of deliverables
• Ensures formal acceptance and sign-off of design deliverables
• Defines and monitors quality standards on all design deliverables
• Determines acceptance standards for projects
• Facilitates internal team work streams in support of quality assurance standards


Requirements:
• Minimum 5 year’ s experience as a Project Manager in a digital agency environment or within a solution provider supporting omni-channel communication solution development
• Experience managing multi-faceted engagements with senior level client stakeholders
• Understanding of digital technologies including web development technologies, mobile, email, social media, etc.
• Experience working with clients in Hospitality Industry is a plus
• Fluent in engagement management programs (e.g. MS Project, OmniPlan, Rally, Clarity, ActiveCollab.)
• Detail oriented and adaptable to changing requirements
• Understanding and experience in using various methodologies including waterfall and agile
• Demonstrated experience simultaneously managing multiple engagements involving cross functional teams
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Able to work autonomously as well as a member of a team
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills; consensus and team building with strong problem solving skills related to project management

• Keen sense of creative thinking and problem solving
