Major purpose
Provides reliable and secure technical operation of maintenance and security of all the  client' s Windows servers and ensure that the Data Center environment is reliably backed according to schedule or SLC. Serve as a point of reference for other engineers and team members.

Major functions: 
• Support development effort in review of system hardware; software and system design to assure system requirements are met
• Participate in all system/subsystem hardware and software integration and acceptance testing
• Part of the team that sets policy; monitors; prioritizes; and develops standards; as well as maintains service levels; for the production environment
• Must design; deploy; maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure for multiple production environments
• Proactively suggest alternative solutions and designs; third party tools; etc. to solve the problems at hand
• As a member of the team will respond to all system problems on a 7X24 basis and take part in on-call rotation
• Lead and participate in the writing of system; test and test reporting documentation to assure that design and test results meet customer requirements
• Ensure mission critical servers are available and operating 24 hours a day and 7 days a week
• Administrator servers and implement hardware and software upgrades
• Run production jobs as scheduled. Monitor all server activity for problems; diagnose and resolve problems according to procedure. Escalate problems to the appropriate levels necessary.

• Carry out system maintenance tasks on all  servers as required
• Develop server operating procedures
• Handle 2nd and 3rd level support request as needed
• Participate in development of disaster recovery plans
• Provide specialized customer support in certain areas as appropriate
• Participate in email or telephone and face to face discussion; respond to any requests from other staff; and facilitate good communications amongst  staff
• Share skills with server administrators and provide guidance when needed
OTHER FUNCTIONS
• Carry a mobile phone off hours on a rotation within the team; in order to monitor and take action where appropriate to ensure continued reliable accessibility of the  servers.

• Attend team and any other meetings as appropriate.

Specialized Training:
• MCSE certification.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Services and enterprise management
• Experience in Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server domain design and implementation
• Proficient in TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WINS technology
• Managing Windows 2000/2003/2008 mix mode enterprises
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 5.5/2000/2003 2007 Server
• Windows 2000/2003/2008 Administration training
• Solid Knowledge of SAN architecture and technology
• Experience with backup software and strategies
• Experience with disk configuration and use of RAID with NT
• Strong knowledge of Internet computing technologies
• An understanding of performance, backup, security issues, and registry settings
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Services and enterprise management;
• Expert in Windows 2000/2003/2008 AD domain design and implementation
• Administration level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
• Administration level knowledge of Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
• VBS and PowerShell experience would be preferable.

Additional Training:
• Ability to travel when necessary
• After hours support is required occasionally.
• Carry mobile phone to provide after hours support.
Education/Experience/Licenses etc.: • Bachelor’ s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or combination of education and 5 years minimum of equivalent experience
