Become a key member of the development team.  As a member of the development team, you will be responsible for utilizing development tools and languages to design, document, develop, test, and maintain applications and interfaces.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Participate in the design, documentation, and configuration control of changes applied to both in house developed and third party applications.
  • In the position of Application Developer I, you will participate in all phases of the multi-tier software development cycle with an emphasis on tool set  development (Optio, Jitterbit, PHP, Unix Shell Scripting, SharePoint etc.) focusing on automation.
  • You will be expected to review, analyze, design, and write/modify the applications including coding, testing, debugging and documenting.
  • Collaborate in the system design to perform required functions.
  • Implement application code for new and modified components to meet business, operational, and performance requirements efficiently.
  • Produce components that adhere to internal standards, are reliable, and easily maintained.
  •   Analyze existing system components in order to develop a complete understanding of the architecture and flow of control.
  • Write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
  •   Participate in the testing process through test script development, unit and system test execution, test review and analysis.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

 

Qualifications:
  • Good communications skills
  • Knowledge of programming methodology
  • Knowledge of programming languages
  • Knowledge of testing and quality assurance concepts
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Knowledge of batch and near real-time programming concepts
  • Ability and desire to write specifications using pre-written templates
  • Ability and desire to write test scripts using pre-written templates
  • Ability to record and log all modifications performed to the system
  • Ability to work unsupervised on projects of short to medium duration
  • Ability to test for, diagnose and fix bugs
  • Ability to analyze requirements and apply those requirements to application development
  • Ability to produce results within project deadlines
  • Knowledge of development tools
  • Knowledge of programming languages
  • Knowledge of Oracle/SQL Server, or other relational databases
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of HP-UX, Linux,  and/or Windows

 

Education/Experience
  • 4 year degree in Computer Science or related technical degree or a minimum of 3 years experience in programming/application development
  • Understanding of a minimum of two developmental languages
